BIAZON HOTEL, ISU – ECHAGUE

College of Engineering, ISU, funded the consultative meeting on the priority agricultural and biosystems engineering services in agriculture and fisheries sector at the Biazon Hotel of Isabela State University’s Echague Campus last August 26, 2022. The Cagayan Valley Regional Chapter of the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE-CVRC) and Isabela State University warmly welcomed the PSABE National Board of Trustees who just came from Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) for the same kind of meeting.

SWIM P-3 Project Leader Dr. Rafael J. Padre gave the welcome remarks during the consultation meeting which ABE representatives from Agri Component Corp and ACT, various LGUs, PLGUs, SUCs, among others were present.

The Consultation meeting aimed to address the needs of the Agriculture and Fishery sectors by identifying the priority ABE services that could be delivered to the Sector in support of achieving Food Sufficiency and Security. ABE representatives from the private and public sectors seized the opportunity to gather and ensure that their comments and suggestions were incorporated into the organization’s support for the agriculture and fishery sectors, assisting our country in achieving its goals for food security and sufficiency.

Three presentations preceded the formal consultative meeting. Dr. Lanie A. Alejo, Director of the Water Research and Development Center (WReDC), and President of PSABE-CVRC, discussed the regional chapter’s accomplishments and future plans anchored from their objectives. The projects and acccomplishments of the organization at the national level were described in detail by PSABE National President, Engr. Andres S. Tuates. Finally, Mr. Raymond Balino, the PSABE-PPG National President, concluded the presentations and urged his fellow students to represent the future of the ABE profession.
